Ghost Signal: The Silent Witness
Mission Day 48: Chief Engineer Marcus Chen establishes his routine data uplink with Mission Control. His voice is calm, professional—perhaps too calm.
"Control, initiating standard radar telemetry transfer. I've been running some manual calibration flights to verify sensor accuracy. Nothing unusual to report. Just... routine maintenance."
There's a pause. Then:
"Please review the ship's path data carefully. I want to make sure our systems are aligned."
The Situation
The data contains:
- Ship telemetry — The engineer's position as he flies calibration patterns
- Environmental scans — Stars, planets, debris detected by the radar
Everything appears normal. The engineer's flight path is just routine sensor calibration.
...isn't it?
The Challenge
Your mission is to:
- Retrieve the radar data from the engineer's transmission
- Analyze the data for anything unusual
- Report your findings to Mission Control
Something about this transmission doesn't add up. The engineer has never requested a "careful review" before.
Technical Notes
The radar data consists of 3D coordinates with timestamps and source identifiers. Standard telemetry format.
From the engineer's voice log:
"I'm flying a very specific pattern. Calibration requires precision."
"Make sure you look at the complete picture. Every detail matters."
